If you have a keen interest and talent for design, then there are a few points which you may wish to consider.

Firstly, you are likely to want to experiment with the way in which your designs work when used with fabric and clothing. You may find that you want to make certain alterations in order improve the appearance of your designs when used in connection with certain materials.

You will also want to think about the style of clothes which you are looking to create in general. Are you designing casual clothes which might be worn to watch TV or play Cheeky Bingo, or glamorous evening gowns which might be worn to a more formal event? Having a good idea of your goals can be the best way to make sure you create a collection which has direction, and a clear sense of style. 

You may have already completed a graphic design course, but you may also want to think about taking a course which focuses specifically on fashion. Dressmaking skills can often prove essential when your first set out as a designer. Professional training in this area can be extremely valuable, especially if it is something in which you have no prior experience.

You may look to gain work experience or an internship with a more established designer. You may even want to enter a design competitions, like those which feature on QooQoo.lv!

This can help you to build up a portfolio, which you will need in order to progress in your career as a fashion designer.

We had the most wonderful shoes for the show ever. You feel like at home anywhere(!!!) with the Tretorn boots from Sweden. Since i got my own pair of grey Tretorn boots, im not wearing them off..^^ Adore

Konkurss Be QooQoo ir noslēdzies!

Liels paldies visiem, kas atsūtīja savas bildes, daloties ar savām idejām un stilu. Mēs esam saņēmuši tik daudz interesantu bilžu, ka žūrijas locekļi nevarēja izšķirties, kuras 3 fotogrāfijas ir vislabākās. Tā kā acīmredzamu līderu nav, mēs izsludinam online balsošanu.

Thanks to everybody who participated and shared with us their ideas and personal style. We've received so many interesting pictures that even our jury members couldn't decide which 3 photographs are the best ones. Many pictures have similar amount of votes, that's why we're starting online voting.

Vote for your favourite photograph by commenting this post until October 21!

The final result will be jury members' evaluation and online voting results counted together.

The winners will be announced on October 26 at 19:00 and afterwards the results will also be posted here.

Be QooQoo - all you have to do is send a picture where you can be seen wearing an outfit that features QooQoo in it. That doesn’t have to be QooQoo from head to toe.

 We have cool and creative jury members picked. They will be announced next week. Check updates to find out who they are.

 Send your photograph to be@qooqoo.lv until September 30, mentioning your name, surname, e-mail and phone number.

What the winner gets:

1.      place – QooQoo outfit

2.      place – QooQoo garment

3.      place – QooQoo garment

The sizes of the garments can be chosen by the winners. All participant pictures will be published.

After the winner is chosen, we will throw up a party, where the winners of the contest will receive the final QooQoo prizes and we all will enjoy cookies together. Designer of QooQoo Alona also promised to make some felt-marker tatoos on the bodies of volunteers.

Mammadaba (mother nature) Embassy was opened in the centre of Riga. The goal is to remind busy capital people of the opportunities provided by mother nature. I was honoured to be an ambassador of this little oasis.

Embassy is involving people in simple activities like sunbathing on a lawn, procedures like massages with natural treatments and yoga. Beauty procedures and games for children and adults, live musical performances are also provided.

The official opening gathered a group of beloved bloggers and people who are trying to change the environment in some particular field. 

Mammadaba vēstniecība tika atklāta pašā Rīgas centrā, piedāvājot iespēju atpūsties, izbaudot koncertus, dažādas procedūras, pikniku zālienā. Mērķis ir ļaut cilvēkiem izbaudīt atpūtas iespējas, kuras iespējams baudīt brīvā dabā un Latvijas mežos, kā arī informēt par skaistākajām un interesantākajām atpūtas vietām Latvijā.

Turpat tiek organizētas jogas nodarbības, dažādas meistarklases, skaistumkopšanas procedūras un spēles. Atklāšanas pasākumā tika sapulcināti iemīļotie latvijas blogeri un cilvēki, kas cenšas attīstīt vidi vai nozari, kurā darbojas.

Es tiku pagodināta būt par vēstnesi šai mazajai oāzei. Vēstniecību varēs apmeklēt līdz 21. augustam.
